NATURAL  DYES  WORKSHOPS,SKILLS  TRAINING , JOB CREATIONS & BRINGING SUSTAINABLE  PRACTICES IN  THE AFRICAN FASHION INDUSTRY.

NATURAL DYES WORKSHOP / MFP COLOR LAB

Dyeing with natural colors roots deeply in African culture, however the knowledge faded with the arrival of synthetic dyes. Through our workshops we want to recapture those traditions by using local plants to create versatile and vibrant colors to produce fabrics. Working with natural dyes requires high precision and willingness to experiment and have patience. The results are striking and add a one-of-a-kind value to textile designs. We did our first workshops with Dr Theanne Schiros in Cote D'Ivoire with artisans in Grand Bassam & Adjame and in the Republic of Guinea with 300 women from There Is No Limit Foundation " Association of women tie dyers " of Kindia Guinea documented by John Brown. You can learn more about this project by visiting www.6876km.com a creation of botanically dyed, zero-waste collection of textiles art, from West Africa to NYC . Photographed by John Brown
